FAQ

Q: Where are you located?
A: I'm located at Sapphire Studios in Naperville, Illinois. We're about 30 miles outside of Chicago right off of I-88. For anyone traveling to their appointment from outside the area, there are plenty of hotels close by and great places to eat, along with public transport to the city if you'd like to make a trip out of it.

Q; What do you specialize in?
A: I specialize in color new school, and cartoon character tattoos. This can encompass all sorts of fun different subject matters, from dog caricatures, to stylized objects, or just a portrait of your favorite cartoon character from when you were growing up. I also have an affinity for abstract tattoos, for those looking for something wild and outside the box.

Q: How do I book an appointment?

A: Go to the booking tab on this page and fill out the form. Once your idea is received, I will review it to decide if I am the best artist for your tattoo. If your idea is selected, I will reach out to discuss the idea further, and send you a link to my scheduling platform to book your appointment and pay your deposit, or the full balance of the appointment if you'd like to do it that way.

Q:  What are your rates?
A: My rate is roughly $180 an hour, but I prefer to use half and full day rates. My half day rate is $700 (4-5hrs) or $1200 (6-8 hrs)
Rates are subject to vary depending on the specific project and workload associated with the project.

Q: What is the easiest way to make sure my idea is accepted?
A: The best way to get into my books is having an idea that is directed more towards my style, or a style that I'm currently looking to do more of. Creative freedom also will help move your idea up in priority. I'm willing to attempt different styles if I can make the idea fit with what I am best at.

Q: How often do you answer emails and requests?
A: I try to answer requests and emails once every few days. But during busier seasons, like tax season, or if my availability is limited, it may take up to two weeks to respond. If you aren't willing to wait for my response, there are plenty of great tattoo artists also located at Sapphire Studios who may be able to get you in sooner. Don't hesitate to ask!

Q: How far out do you book?
A: I currently try not to book farther than two months in advance. I usually have people who book their follow up sessions for a month  out from their current session to keep their projects moving along. I will leave spots throughout the month that allow me to take on single session tattoos, and take travel opportunities as they present themselves.

Q: Do you ever close your books?
A: In a perfect world, no. I'm not saying that I wouldn't ever, but the way I schedule makes it so I add projects as current projects finish so I can bring on new clients and still take care of current clients. If I feel as if current clients aren't getting the attention they deserve, I may temporarily close my books to accommodate those on the schedule already.
